Represented broker-dealer against claims for violation of federal and state securities laws arising from respondent’s securities lending business. Claimant sought damages of over $50 million plus attorney fees. After five days of hearings, panel granted summary award for respondent and awarded it $287,000 in attorney fees and costs. Barinaga v. Represented contractor in $87M sale of contractor-held real property to commercial developer that included simultaneous negotiation of contractor’s construction agreement to construct the buyer/developer’s apartment complexes on the property.

Investigated and pursued claims on behalf of publicly traded company against its former chief executive and founder. Case was settled. Also recovered related proxy contest fees from insurer.
