Represented Oregon-based steel producer in connection with $10 million asset-based lending facility.
Represented public school district in appeal from judgment for plaintiff on IDEA and §1983 claims. Obtained reversal of judgment and affirmance of pretrial rulings dismissing ADA and Rehabilitation Act claims. C.O. v. Portland Public Schools, 679 F3d 1162 (9th Cir 2012)
Secured reversal of a trial court decision denying an Oregonian’s petition for the relief from the prohibition of possessing or receiving a firearm. This was a pro bono matter taken through the Oregon Appellate Pro Bono Program. Bentley v. Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, 297 Or App 609 (2019).
Conducted grievance investigations and related contract analysis for public entities, including negotiating and resolving grievances with union prior to arbitration.
Negotiated an initial contract for a private, nonprofit employer.
Defended sellers of aerospace manufacturing company in post-acquisition dispute about value of company’s inventory and its impact on purchase price. Lead counsel in arbitration hearing, after which the arbitrator found in our clients’ favor and dismissed buyer’s $5 million claim for damages with prejudice.
Defended marketing, research, mortgage, and retail businesses in consumer protection litigation, including alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Unfair Trade Practices Act, Electronic Funds Transfer Act, and common tort and contract claims.
Represented Oregon-based manufacturer in connection with $20 million mezzanine financing.
