Represented lender holding more than $5 million in secured debt in connection with collection action and chapter 11 bankruptcy of Dinkel Family Farms (Bankr. D. Or. 2020).

Successfully represented multistate client before multiple levels of state courts in an appeal of a state corporate income tax assessment. Case involved complex issues related to apportionment of income, administrative procedure, statutory and regulatory interpretation, and constitutional limits on state taxation.
Represented a public works contractor in a jury trial, successfully obtaining full recovery on breach of contract and indemnification claims.
Represents large energy company related to claims for response costs and natural resource damages at the Portland Harbor Superfund Site.
Regularly represented a variety of manufacturing and commercial operations to come into or maintain compliance with state, municipal, and local stormwater regulations.
Represented petroleum refinery in a suit brought by the employee of a subcontractor who was injured when he fell from his truck while loading at a refinery site. The court agreed that our client owed no duty to the plaintiff because he was the employee of a contractor whose work was not controlled by our client, and dismissed all claims. The dismissal was affirmed on appeal.
Defended publicly traded manufacturer against breach-of-contract claim by foreign distributor, seeking approximately $100 million in damages. Court granted summary judgment in favor of client.
