Successfully represented employers in the construction, retail, and sports entertainment industries in representation petitions and related hearings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
Successfully represented employer in a unit decertification petition and election.
Provided advice and counsel to private sector employers during union organizing and election campaigns.
Represented public sector employers in unit clarification proceedings before the Oregon Employment Relations Board (ERB).
Believing that prevention is best, counseled employers and prepared and presented numerous workshops on remaining union-free even before the union starts organizing. Counseled and represented employers in union organizing efforts in the public and private sectors.
Assisted employers, public and private, in preparing for strikes, which is frequently the best strike prevention measure. During strikes or picketing, handled in-court injunction proceedings and pursued administrative remedies for both private and public sector employers.
Represented institutional trustee, acting as a successor trustee and special fiduciary for a financially-incapacitated settlor, in administering trusts that collectively held in excess of $100 million of real property, in litigation and trust administration involving numerous disputes among family member beneficiaries, appraisal and valuation of trust assets, and ongoing management of commercial properties owned by the trusts.
Defended family-member trustees in dispute with sibling beneficiaries, regarding valuation and management of ongoing family business enterprise, including disputes regarding discounts of fractional interests in business for lack of marketability and control; prevailed on summary judgment.
