Jakini Ingram is an associate at the firm and her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. She utilizes her background in real estate, environmental law, and commercial litigation to provide clients with thorough insight and guidance to help them achieve positive outcomes. Clients benefit from Jakini’s attention to detail and experience in motion practice, including drafting subpoenas, motions to dismiss, and helping with overall strategy and dispute resolution. Jakini supports a diverse group of public and private clients in a range of industries including transit, real estate development, and oil and gas.
Jakini works closely with environmental clients on highly complex matters that require analysis and strategy for property access agreements, evaluation of sites, enforcement actions and appeals, and issues related to remediation under CERCLA and MTCA. Jakini advises transit authorities to support effective dispute resolution related to eminent domain issues. She also supports real estate clients with transactional services including drafting purchase and sale agreements, conducting due diligence, and conducting in-depth title review of real property.
During law school, Jakini served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael H. Watson in the U.S District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She also served as a compliance extern for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Compliance and Integrity Office, where she researched privacy regulations and drafted memoranda detailing HIPPA regulations. Jakini received mentorship and guidance from skilled attorneys across the country as an American Bar Association Legal Opportunity Scholar, Federal Bar Association Scholar, National Lawyers Guild Scholar, and fellow for the Diverse Attorney Pipeline Program. She applied what she learned in these spaces to then introduce 9th grade students to the legal field as a fellow and teacher for the Law and Leadership Institute.
Jakini is a champion for Equity and Inclusion and utilizes her diverse background and intersecting identities to provide support for the firm’s Diversity Committee.
