J. Dino Vasquez is a highly respected commercial lawyer with more than 35 years of experience in state, federal, administrative courts, and U.S. government agencies. He represents clients in complex commercial disputes and transactions at local, national, and international levels, focusing on the rights and obligations of parties involved in commercial transactions and trade matters. With a proven track record, Dino offers unique experience in navigating the intricacies of commercial law across diverse legal landscapes.

Dino provides strategic counsel to clients on regulatory compliance related to import/export laws, trade statutes, and international treaties. He advises aerospace companies, civil and military manufacturers, and global service providers on navigating complex regulatory frameworks. In addition to his regulatory focus, Dino represents carriers, freight forwarders, importers, and exporters in litigation involving maritime and domestic transportation disputes, including cargo and bill of lading issues, property and vessel damage claims, and warehousing disputes. He is adept at negotiating with key government agencies, including the U.S. State Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls, the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Customs Enforcement. Dino’s extensive litigation experience includes cases before the Court of International Trade and representation in international arbitration and mediation proceedings.

Dino also brings unique experience in advising clients on foreign investment compliance for cross-border mergers and acquisitions, helping them navigate the intricate application and approval processes especially before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS). He provides strategic guidance through evaluations by key government agencies, including the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Department of Defense, and various state departments. Additionally, Dino assists clients in managing investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), leveraging his deep understanding of both regulatory frameworks and the complexities of international business transactions. His experience helps ensure that clients are well-positioned to meet compliance requirements while successfully executing global deals.

Domestically, Dino represents and advises clients on a broad spectrum of contract and business disputes, professional liability matters, and risk management strategies. Before joining Miller Nash, Dino practiced at a Pacific Northwest law firm focusing on commercial law, corporate law, trade law, real estate, and land use law. He also provides pro bono services to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
