Pacific Northwest law firm Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP welcomes four exceptional fall associates to its offices in Portland and Seattle. In Portland, John Clarke and Vanessa Triplett join the firm’s deep litigation team, and Taylor Richman joins the firm’s education team. In Seattle, Emily Krisher joins the firm’s growing business and bankruptcy teams.
John Clarke
Clarke, based in Portland, joins the firm’s litigation team. He recently earned his law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law, where he was elected to Order of the Coif. During law school, Clarke served as a legal research and writing tutor and as a law clerk at a Eugene-based firm. He also served as a full-time judicial extern for the Honorable Michael J. McShane of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon. In 2014, Clarke received the Laird Kirkpatrick Book Prize, an award given to the top student in trial practice. Before attending law school, he served as a congressional intern for Senator Ron Wyden in Washington, D.C. He spent his college years as an adviser to Hope at the Edge, a nonprofit that promotes community-service outreach and global service projects. Clarke is a proud native of southern Oregon.
Emily Krisher
Krisher joins the firm’s business and bankruptcy teams in Seattle. She recently earned her law degree at University of Pennsylvania, where she was a student in the Accelerated JD/MBA program (Wharton School) and articles editor for the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. Before attending law school, Krisher worked at an admiralty law firm in Seattle, where she assisted with both litigation and transactional matters. While earning her undergraduate degree, Krisher founded and coached a college-level congressional debate team and served as president of Northwestern University College Feminists. She is an intermediate speaker in Mandarin Chinese, has traveled extensively in western Europe and China and enjoys brewing and tasting craft beer.
Taylor Richman
Richman, based in Portland, joins the firm’s education team. He recently earned his law degree, with honors, at the University of Washington School of Law. Richman also recently earned his Ph.D. in multicultural and special education at the University of Washington. While earning his doctorate, Richman taught graduate and undergraduate education courses on Education Law & Equity, Multicultural Education, and Instructional Issues in Multicultural Classrooms. He has also coordinated an undergraduate tutoring program that contributed over 10,000 volunteer hours to Seattle Public Schools and served as a youth advocate in the Race & Justice Clinic at the University of Washington School of Law. Richman enjoys big adventures and has cycled the Pacific Coast Highway, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and backpacked through northern India.
Vanessa Triplett
Triplett, based in Portland, joins the firm’s litigation team. She recently earned her law degree at the University of Michigan Law School, where she was an executive editor on the Journal of Race and Law. During her time at Michigan Law, Triplett served as a student attorney in the school's general litigation clinic and also as a student mediator in the school's mediation clinic. Before attending law school, Triplett was employed for two years as a case clerk at a law firm specializing in labor and employment law. In her free time, Triplett is an avid oil painter. She also enjoys traveling, and has spent five years living in Shanghai, China, and two years in England.
