Miller Nash welcomes Celeste Mountain Monroe to the firm’s employment and education teams. Celeste, based in the firm’s Seattle office, focuses her practice on employment litigation, counseling, and investigations. With over 20 years of experience, she provides thoughtful and creative counsel to human resources teams and company leaders in public and private entities on all aspects of the employment relationship, conducts independent investigations in workplaces and schools, and guides public and private schools on traditional employment-related and education matters.

Celeste works extensively with public and private schools on a variety of employment-related matters and provides guidance on all aspects of their operations, including special education, student discipline, disability accommodation, and critical contracts.

Before joining Miller Nash, Celeste practiced at a Pacific Northwest law firm where she provided employment and education law counseling and litigation services.

Celeste provides the type of well-informed, timely, effective, hands-on, and practical legal guidance that clients require. Her employment practice includes advising clients on matters related to hiring, discipline, termination, disability accommodation, and wage and hour compliance. Additionally, Celeste has significant experience conducting in-depth investigations and over the past decade has handled hundreds of investigations of alleged misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation arising in workplaces and schools throughout Washington and Oregon. She is also a certified sexual assault investigator through the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA). Celeste received her bachelor’s degree from Barnard College at Columbia University before earning her law degree at the Willamette University College of Law.
