Development Agreements. Drafted and negotiated many development agreements, covenants, and other contracts to facilitate new or revised development proposals for private and public projects.
Defended public school district in lawsuit alleging wrongful termination by provisional teacher, resulting in summary judgment for district, later upheld by the appellate court.
Represent veterinary clinic in dispute with former employees.
Governmental Takings. Represented client in claims against governmental entities for de facto taking of private property, including injuries to land as a result of public works projects.
Assist multiple banking clients with annual proxy season and prepare related documents.
Defended franchisor in state court action brought by franchisee seeking damages for alleged violations of Washington’s Franchise Investment Protection Act, registration and disclosure violations. Obtained dismissal of franchisee’s claims on summary judgment.
Land Use Hearings and Administrative Appeals. Present projects to hearings examiners and local, regional, and state land use boards, and at times, when necessary, defend projects in courts.
Defended public school district in lengthy grievance arbitration challenging teacher’s non-renewal, resulting in arbitration award upholding district decision. Affirmed and upheld on appeal.
Represented the FDIC in various actions arising from the 2008 financial collapse.
