Summary judgment ruling dismissing 42 USC §1983 free speech case by university instructor in which court determined that in-class speech was not protected under the Constitution because it was not speech made as an employee on a matter of public concern.

In a multi-million dispute involving franchise rights, Mark Gram, chief executive officer of Jubitz Corporation wrote the following after Jubitz Corporation successfully overcame efforts by a franchisor to substantially devalue or terminate its franchise rights: "We are highly pleased with our firm's representation by Denny and Miller Nash. Represented local manufacturer in pursuing claims of patent infringement and trade secret theft against large multi-national corporation involving chemical process technology. Case resolved with confidential settlement after we defeated numerous motions for summary judgment.

Court appointed examiner in In re Archer USA, Inc., U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington.

Successfully resolved claims brought by BOLI and several current and former employees against a university accused of violations of Oregon’s personnel records statute.

Obtained summary judgment for commercial landlord in dispute related to eviction and breach of contract against tenant.

Cannabis Policy Leadership. Spearhead industry initiatives for clients with state and local policy leaders to develop rule changes friendly to fast growing cannabis companies.

Defended through resolution wide range of wage and hour class actions asserting multi-million damage claims on issues including, FLSA exempt status, alleged unpaid pre-post shift hours worked, to state law concerning deductions, penalties, and timely pay at termination of employment.

Craft Brewers Alliance, Inc., is a long-time firm client composed of microbreweries such as Widmer Brothers Brewing, The Redhook Ale Brewery, and Kona Brewing Company. CBAI has enjoyed serving as the microbrewing component of the Anheuser-Busch (IN-BEV) family.
