Successfully challenged the National Women’s Soccer League’s minimum age rule in U.S. District Court as an illegal boycott in violation of federal antitrust law on behalf of 15-year-old professional soccer player Olivia Moultrie. Trial team obtained a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction in this landmark case, prohibiting the NWSL and its teams from boycotting Moultrie due to her age. Achievements also included securing favorable rulings on significant questions arising out of federal antitrust and labor law, including that the NWSL and its teams did not constitute a “single entity” for antitrust purposes and that Moultrie’s claim was not precluded by federal labor statutes and did not interfere with ongoing collective bargaining between the NWSL and the NWSL Players Association. Case culminated in the negotiation of a settlement ensuring Moultrie’s right to continue playing in the NWSL, subject to the provisions of any final collective bargaining agreement.

Obtained summary judgment awarding client more than $1.4 million in damages in addition to court-ordered fees, costs, and sanctions of more than $100,000, in breach of contract and de-branding dispute against former gasoline station franchisee and business interference claims against unauthorized assignee.

Represented solar energy company in arbitration related to breach of solar power purchase agreement resulting from purchaser’s failure to provide senior property rights for solar power system as required by agreement.

Represented oil companies in litigation alleging violation of the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act (PMPA) for termination of franchise agreement with franchisees.

Represented petroleum wholesaler in PMPA dispute and “bona fide offer” issues involving more than 100 dealer plaintiffs.

Obtained jury trial verdict for damages, plus court ordered fees, costs and sanctions, on behalf of a Colorado-based oil and gas company in breach of contract lawsuit for failed company acquisition due to breach of confidentiality agreement.

Secured numerous permanent injunctions across the United States against trademark infringers misappropriating the name or likeness of a highly regarded restaurant enterprise.

Defended a global corporation employer in an action brought by an individual involved in a car accident with an employee during work. The case was resolved on favorable terms through informal negotiations with plaintiff’s counsel.

Defended a global corporation in various premises liability actions, as part of a team of attorneys, obtaining voluntary dismissals of the cases prior to the discovery stage.
